Lamination

Lamination – is the process of applying a self-adhesive transparent polymer – laminate – to the surface of printed products for the purpose of giving the material special protective features (texture, gloss, hardness, moisture resistance) and appearance.

Laminate with different density 32 μm – 250 μm (measured in micrometers or microns – one thousandth of a millimeter, symbol: μm) is used under different circumstances.

  • glossy laminate – shiny and slippery, it is almost impossible to write on it, except for the permanent markers;
  •  matte laminate – does not shine, you can use almost any kind of ink to write on it, pencil is working pretty good as well;
  • embossed or textured laminate – used to decorate the image surface.
